Autumn Kidulic Sets School Record and Claims 1st Place at Day 1 of NEAC Championships

The Cedar Crest College swim team competed in Day 1 of the NEAC Swimming and Diving Championships, with Autumn Kidulic of Whitehall, PA 18052 winning the 200 IM and breaking the school record.

The Falcons currently sit in 2nd place with a score of 124 points, behind the Wildcats from Cazenovia scored 223 points after winning four events. The Wells College Express are third with 114 points. The Gallaudet University Bison finished the day in fourth with 95 points and the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers are fifth with 36 points.

"It was a strong first day," stated Head Coach Charlie MacDonald. "The Falcons swam very well at finals and we got some great finishes."

Freshman Autumn Kidulic claimed first place during the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:25.35, also breaking the Cedar Crest school record with that time. "Autumn's 200 IM victory really set the tone. I am very excited to see what they do tomorrow, finished MacDonald." Freshman Emily Badman (Pennsburg, Pa./Perkiomen) and freshman Ramona Dalja competed in the 200 IM placing 7th and 9th respectively.

Senior Olivia Lopez (Brandywine, MD /Gwynn Park ) placed 4th in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 29.02. Also swimming in that event was Freshman Sierra Ressler (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) and senior Tiffany Cuth (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton). In the 500-yard Freestyle event, freshman Emily Klenk (Denver, CO/Monarch) recorded a time of 6:16.28 to finish in 5th place out of the 12 competing.

For the 400-yard Medley Relay, Cedar Crest placed 2nd with a time of 4:36.29 and the other Falcons squad to swim in the event finished in 5:44.48. The Falcons also finished in 2nd place for the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:49.77.
