2017 Nov 2

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2017 end of the season field hockey awards. These awards include Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-CSAC and the All-CSAC All-Sportsmanship team. The awards were determined by a vote of the conference's 12 head coaches.

"I'm so incredibly excited for our team members that were recognized for conference honors," stated Head Coach Kellina Yarrish. "Each member honored contributed in so many ways to our program. All very strong players in each area of the field. Not only do they bring and intense level of play, but composure to the field as well that spread to each of their teammates during game play. It's an honor to be acknowledged as Coach of the Year. However, I'm beyond fortunate to have the opportunity too work with an amazing group of young women everyday. They not only work hard on the field but off the field as well. Each member of this team contributes in a really big way. I'm so incredibly proud of our team culture and the way it has transferred onto the field this season. That has been an instrumental part of the team success. We also are fortunate to have had an amazing senior leadership. Each member of this program inspires, motivates and challenges each other every time they step onto the field. It's also important to recognize the support of our Athletic Director Allen Snook and other members of the Cedar Crest institution for their continuous effors in their support of athletis and the entire department."

The field hockey team won Rookie of the Year for the second year in a row, freshman forward Annalise Unger (Burlington, VT /Rice Memorial ) took the honor as well as CSAC All-Conference 2nd Team. Unger had nine goals, and five assists putting her in third for goals in a season and points in a season in the Cedar Crest record books.

Senior midfielder Hannah Gouck (Kintnersville, PA/Palisades) also received CSAC All-Conference 2nd Team, as she netted nine goals and four assists this season which puts her in a tie for third for goals in a season and fourth in points in a season in Cedar Crest record books.
