Tennis, Beckett Notch CSAC Awards

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has released its 2017 end of the season women's soccer awards. These awards include Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-CSAC and the CSAC All-Sportsmanship team. These awards were determined by a vote of the conference's 12 head coaches.

For Cedar Crest, freshman midfielderA Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove )A was selected to the CSACA Second Team. Starting and playing in 16 games this season, Tennis had six goals and four assists for 16 points. Tennis averaged 1.5 shots per game and had a .250 shot percentage as well as a .667 shots on goal percentage.A

"I'm so thrilled for Adrianna. She has a tireless work ethic, and is, undoubtedly, one of the most impactful players in the CSAC. To step in as a freshman and contribute the way she did this season is remarkable," noted Head Coach Sarah Wolcott.A "She was force to be reckoned with on the field this year, and she contributed a lot to our successes this season. She started in every game in which she was able to play. She's someone who doesn'tA just want to wina She works to win. This honor is more than deserved, and I'm so proud of her."

Senior midfielder/forward Jackalyn Beckett (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) was named to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team. Beckett was a positive voice on the field, leading the Falcons as captain. Beckett played in 17 games and started in 15. She tallied two goals and three assists for seven points on the season. Beckett averaged 1.06 shots per game with aA shot percentage of .111 and shots on goal percentage of .611.
