Students to Compete for Full-Tuition Scholarship

Cedar Crest College to Host Annual Scholarship Competition in February

Allentown, PA (01/25/2023) — A four-year, full-tuition scholarship will be up for grabs when Cedar Crest College hosts its annual Scholarship Competition Day on Saturday, February 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is the fourteenth year for the event.

Invited high school students will complete a three-hour exam which consists of a writing component, as well as multiple-choice and true-false questions covering the arts, mathematics, science, and the humanities. The top five finalists will continue to the interview portion of the competition. The winner will be notified and announced the following week.

Ranked among the top ten in our region for Social Mobility by U.S. News & World Report, Cedar Crest College has a deep history of opening the doors to higher education to underserved individuals. The competition aims to bring high-achieving students to campus, where they and their families can discover the many opportunities available at Cedar Crest.

In recognition of their academic achievements, every participant will receive, at minimum, a $2,000 scholarship over four years ($500 per year). Those who place in the top 25 will receive larger scholarships as follows:

The best opportunity for photos and video will be during the Student Scholar Recognition & Announcement of the Top 25, which begins at 3:30 p.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Center, Tompkins College Center.
