Cedar Crest College

Beta Beta Beta, a national honorary biology society, has a three-fold purpose: the stimulation of sound scholarship, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and promotion of biological research. Its membership is reserved for students who have superior academic records, have demonstrated special aptitude for biology, and are enrolled in biology programs, including nuclear medicine, and genetic engineering. Some of the activities of the Club are tutoring, sponsoring lectures on various topics, maintaining the nature trail, and conducting guided tours of the arboretum. 2017-18 officers are: President - Nicole Raimondi; Vice President - Julianna Marotta; Secretary - Fernanda Culichia; Treasurer - Magdalena Dammer; Advisor - Jenny Hayden.

The Cedar Crest College Art Society is open to any student with an interest in art. Its purpose is to increase general awareness and appreciation of art issues, activities, and work on campus and in the community. The Society gives students opportunities to learn about fields and professions in art by sponsoring guest lecturers and hosting trips to local galleries and museums. It also coordinates the end-of-semester Studio Celebration, a collection of student work, hosts arts-and-craft days throughout the semester, and offers creative activities at campus events! Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people in over 150 countries and territories who campaign to end abuses of human rights. Cedar Crest College Amnesty International officers for 2017-18 are: President - Jenny Garcia; Vice President - Francisca Sepulveda; Secretary - Yvonne Jallah; Treasurer - Cynthia Iloegbunam; Advisor - Chris Duelfer.

Alpha Epsilon Kappa is the Cedar Crest College chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, the national community service fraternity. Students belonging to the fraternity spend at least 15 hours in the community each semester helping those in need. The Accounting Club provides networking opportunities for students, faculty and professionals in the field of accounting. The group informs members about different career opportunities in accounting and assists students in reaching their career goals by offering mentoring opportunities. Alpha Psi Omega is the national honorary drama fraternity. Members are inducted at a formal ceremony, and their names are listed in the Alpha Psi Omega National Directory. Candidacy depends upon excellence in some area of dramatic production, such as design, directing, stage management or stage performance, and completion of a series of theatre-oriented tasks. The fraternity's activities include attendance at local and on-Broadway productions, working on "after-show" cabarets, a formal dinner, and the presentation of one-act plays (in association with the Buskin Society). 2017-18 officers are: President - Olivia Pastures; Vice President - Megan Smith; Secretary - Olivia Vassot; Treasurer - Alexis Macatangay; Historian - Tomeycia Diamond Scott; Pledge Master - Hope Hurd; Advisor - Roxanne Amico

Nithya "The Shark" Lakshminarayanan was named NEAC Swimmer of the Week for her four win performance in this past weekend's tri-meet vs. Gallaudet and Wells!

Nithya Lakshminarayanan (Newtown, Pa.) from Cedar Crest College has been named the NEAC Women's Swimming and Diving Student-Athlete of the Week after helping her team pick up a first-place finish over Gallaudet University and Wells College. A senior for the Falcons, Lakshminarayanan won all three of her individual events and helped secure a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a team time of 2:11.54. Her performances in the 100-yard individual medley and the 200-yard freestyle bested the competition by over 10 seconds.

Charlotte's Web, a full length play adapted from the book by E.B. White, by Joseph Robinette was performed at Cedar Crest College on November 2, 4 and 5, 2017. The play was produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

These awards include Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-CSAC and the CSAC All-Sportsmanship team. These awards were determined by a vote of the conference's 12 head coaches.

The Cedar Crest College volleyball team defeated Centenary University in three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-21 and 25-10 on Saturday afternoon. It was senior day for the Falcons, honoring Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City).

The Cedar Crest College cross country team finished fourth at the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship meet hosted by Cabrini University held at Cheslen Preserve on Saturday morning. Junior Angelina Biondo (Pen Argyl, Pa./Pen Argyl) was named CSAC All-Conference 1st after finishing first in the race with a time of 24:51.5. Senior Amanda Mann (/Palmerton) finished at 31:30.9 and was also named CSAC All Sportsmanship .
